LAN:
LAN stands for local area network. It is a group of
computers and network devices which are connected to each other inward to the
same buildings. Their connections should highly speed and cheap. On the IUB campus,
mostly connections are either Ethernet (10Mbps) or Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) and various locations have GB Ethernet (1000 Mbps) connections.
MAN:
A man stands for metropolitan area network. It is a larger
network that often measures many buildings in the same network.IUB network is
an example of it.
WAN:
Wan stands for wide area network. It is not blocked to
geographical locations like MAN. It connects to various LANs.The technology
must highly speed and rare. Internet is the best example of WAN.
